George is a long time friend of Woolerina who Pippa met when they started at boarding school together many years ago! George has been photographing the Woolerina collection since 2017.
George is a freelance photographer based in Sydney, she works with small business owners, magazines, and larger companies across beauty, lifestyle and fashion.
George is a country girl at heart so is always up for her annual trip to Forbes. She is extremely passionate about what she does and always goes above and beyond when she is shooting for Woolerina.
George's love for photography began at high school. "Throughout my visual arts exploration I was drawn to taking photos and using them to create my works. It's only now when I look back that I realise how fortunate we were to have a dark room at the school. One project in particular was to document "change". Instead of choosing something easy, (like ice melting) I decided I wanted to burn a tree to the ground. The project stretching well into the night on the family farm, Dad showing me how to use long exposure to capture the embers creating long light trail into the black sky."
George loves being able to bring people and product together, and jump in seamlessly between the two.
We’d love you to get to know George a little better.
1. How would you describe your style?
Clean, modern and light filled! I like capturing intimate moments, with a focus on lighting, human connection and emotion where I can.
2. How do you wear your Woolerina pieces?
I have two favourites; my 'happy pants' as they the most comfortable pants to wear, and great for travelling as they are light yet warm. Also my black tee, which are perfect for work as I wear a lot of black, to blend in and illuminate colour cast and reflections in my images.
3. What do you love most about Spring?
Spring veggies, beans, snow peas, asparagus in yummy fresh salads after a Winter full of heartier meals.
4. What is one thing you do daily that is a non-negotiable?
I always kiss my boys good night, and coffee...
5. What do you think is the best thing about Woolerina?
It would be how much thought, care and dedication has gone into the production of every collection over the last 20 years. The love they have for their customers is evident and you don't just know, you can feel it's a family run business.
