Amelia is a colour consultant, or as she likes to say “I COLOUR PEOPLE IN with what suits them best!” Late last year as we were trying to narrow-down our seasonal colour pallete for our Autumn Winter 2023 collection, Amelia helped us to nail it! Amelia suggested these colours “as they are all uplifting, and they suit so many women’s skin tones.” See how Amelia styles this seasons Woolerina!
Amelia runs her own business Colour me In Styling her aim is to enable women to feel vibrant and confident. When working with Amelia, you can expect her to sort through your wardrobe and advise you on what to keep and what to cull. She starts with creating outfit ideas with what you already own, and most importantly recognizes wardrobe gaps that will enable a person to dress each day with ease.
Amelia adores Merino wool for so many reasons. Warmth factor. Breathable. Environmentally friendly in terms of how it breaks down, and she loves layering with Merino wool pieces in the Winter.
It is no secret Amelia loves colour, “In winter I notice so many wardrobes are full of black and grey. I think it’s a season where colour needs to be embraced. For its uplifting power. You can also create some amazing colour combinations with winter layers.”
As a mum to three gorgeous children herself, she loves to help women feel uplifted, and to achieve a new level of self-acceptance regarding their body shape. Amelia loves seeing a change in someone’s confidence and helping them feel good in their bodies. She enjoys seeing a woman blossom as they see a new way of presenting themselves that’s flattering, practical and sometimes with a playful twist.
We’d love you to get to know Amelia a little better…
1. What do you love most about Winter?
Herbal tea. Trips to the country, slowing down, embracing clean, fresh, crisp air. I also love ocean swimming in the winter. It makes me feel energized and positive.
2. What is your favourite thing to eat in Winter?
Soups and slow cooked curries.
3. What is one thing you do daily that is a non-negotiable?
Move my body every day. Whether that means something gentle like walking our dog Queenie, swimming, a bike ride or vigorous exercise. I’ve joined a women’s running group to keep me committed and to feel a sense of connection to community. I also find getting back into yoga helps reconnect to my body when I’m feeling out of sync.
4. What do you think the best thing about Woolerina is?
Wool is one of my fave fibres and I love to support small Australian businesses, not to mention run by a family! Woolerina is also made to last, and this is high on my priority list when making suggestions to clients.
5. What do you think is the bravest thing you have done?
I used to work in the Performing Arts and looking back I realise I was brave to have a go in such a tough industry. The audition process, the highs, and lows. Financial stress. It was pretty gruelling. And despite having talent in certain areas, I didn’t quite have the confidence (in my twenties) and extreme focus and discipline to take me to the next level. I’m proud that I was able to find work in periods as a TV presenter and a host for live ABC concerts all around Australia. I loved it when the work came in. And who knows, maybe one day I can be a presenter again and personal style, colour consult on the side! Or maybe it will all intertwine.
