Woolerina is a product of Paular Tex
Australia, creators of the Paular Tex Fibre.
Woolerina products are the result
of the determination of a team of experienced men and women dedicated to
the Australian Merino Industry.
Our story begins in the late 18th
century. After purchasing an initial two Spanish Merinos in 1796,
Reverend Samuel Marsden was later given a further seven animals of the
same bloodline by His Majesty King George III of England. Marsden
brought these sheep, with the “Paular” strain dominating to Australia in
1810. Since 1879 this genetic base has been totally insulated from any
outside genetic influence and is now a distinctive bloodline known as
Egelabra.
The fibre from this bloodline has been specifically selected for its
longer length and evenness. This selection ensures the highest quality
and durability. Our fibre is “super wash” treated to enable easy care of
all Woolerina products.
