Woolerina when you're travelling

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

We've had three orders just this morning from people wanting to add a few bits of Woolerina to their suitcase as they head O/S. This has prompted me to jot a few points for you as to why Woolerina is the PERFECT addition to your travel wardrobe...

  • It's warm when you want it to be but not so when you don't - wool's unique insulating capabilities mean that you'll always been at an optimum comfort level - ideal when you're travelling as you just never know what the weather will bring as you trip around; your Woolerina wardrobe will cover so many more conditions that cotton and/or synthetic fibres.
  • Woolerina garments are all designed to be worn "under or over" other clothing - wear them as a base layer when it's really cold and on their own when it's a bit warmer...you're covering so many more bases with just a couple of items.
  • Low odour retention and reduced soiling properties = less washing!! Seriously, just enjoy your travel, who wants to spend time trying to find somewhere to wash clothes!! Additionally, when/if you do need to wash, you can do a quick hand wash in a basin with a bit of woolwash (or even just a bit of your shampoo) and hang it to dry overnight - if it isn't totally dry when you go to pop it on again, you can wear it damp - wool will dry from your body heat without making you feel cold or wet.
  • Your Woolerina garments don't really need ironing - it will smarten them up a tad, but honestly no-one is going to notice after you've had it on for 10 minutes and the wrinkles have worn out!
  • With versatility in mind, all Woolerina's patterns have been designed so that they are versatile enough to be worn as your "underwear" but stylish enough to be worn on their own as a wardrobe basic. Wear it all day out tripping around then add nice jacket or some jewels and head out to dinner!

Are you convinced yet? These guys sure are....

There's Marg & Greg in Alaska, Peter at the Moto Guzzi Museum in Europe, Phil on the Great Ocean Road and Ros on her world-wide adventure. You can read more about their travels as well as lots of others at our testimonial page.

Happy travelling!

Wool when it's warm...

Wednesday, November 02, 2011

The temperature has been rising here at Forbes of late, prompting us to remember why we love wool, even when it’s warm!

With lots happening as Woolerina’s travelling season has come to a close for 2011, we’re all taking advantage of the quieter time to catch up on some much needed tidying and re-organisation at Woolerina HQ. In the warmer weather, lots of running around can lead to that hot and sweaty feeling, but not when wearing our Woolerina t-shirts! Let me share with you a couple of the greatest attributes of wool…

  • It’s warm when you want it to be, but not so when you don’t! The wool fibre is a natural insulator, making it super comfortable across a greater range of temperatures and environments, from hot to cold!
  • Wool has a natural ability to breathe, ensuring your body is better able to adapt to the climatic conditions keeping you more comfortable over a range of temperatures.
  • Wool needs to absorb up to one third of it’s weight in moisture before it begins to feel wet…this means you won’t get that “clammy” feeling after putting in some hard work.
  • It’s not smelly! Wool has a unique ability not to absorb odours. You can feel much more relaxed when wearing wool knowing that, despite getting a bit hot, you won’t be “on the nose”! And because wool doesn’t absorb odours, when you take your Woolerina off, simply air it out overnight and you can slip back into it the next day to do it all again.

There are so many other great reasons to love wool which you can read about at the Features and Benefits page of our website.

With the warm weather in mind, our recommendations from the Woolerina range would have to be any of our lightweight t-shirts and singlets for men, women, children and babies…

    Enjoy the beautiful weather!
